This week students have learned about the history of Albrect Durer and his famous Rhinocerous print. Students are taking a look at their own strange animals to create letters to their peers describing what each strange animal looks like by using the elements and principles of design. By reading and interpreting the letters, students are creating their own images to create their own prints.
This week students are working on their Roots of Music Projects. They have learned how to use contour lines to create both outlines of their images of roots and how it can help to create the illusion of form on a 2-D surface. Students were incouraged to select their favorite song or quote to pull imagery from and incorporate into their piece. They really get to the root of what it all means!
