Sketchbook Prompts
5 Minutes a day Sketchbook Assignment
Choose from the prompts below and spend at least 5 uninterrupted minutes a day sketching in your sketchbook or any paper you can find. Focus on the same prompt for each of those 5 minute. By the end of the week you should have a sketch that has had a good 25 minutes of effort and practice.
Tips:
Tips:
- Remember to draw lightly in case you need to erase.
- If you do not have plain white paper available (preferred) please feel free to use lined paper or get creative with it... a coffee filter, the inside of a cardboard packaging that's bank, etc...
- Since we are going digital I encourage you to look up tutorials during your journey.
- Try adding shading or contour lines to make your objects pop out of the page or seem 3-dimensional.
- If you draw your object and feel like it is complete- try adding a back ground or other objects you might find around it.
- Want to add color? Great! Let's do it! However this will not be a requirement since I'm not sure all students who needed to gather coloring supplies on Friday because of absences was able to do so.
- If you like the idea of creating a digital sketch I'm OK with that as long as you have a preliminary sketch with pencil and paper first.
